The following video is troubleshooting advice from Melissa Heinricy, Au.D. if your hearing aids won’t connect to your mobile device/mobile app.
Hi, today I'm going to discuss some troubleshooting options that you can try when your cell phone will not connect to your hearing devices.
One of the things you can try is to power down your phone. A lot of times we forget that our phone needs to reset itself and we go days or months without turning it off. And at times, this doesn't allow the hearing aids to appropriately connect to your phone. If that doesn't work, you can make sure that you don't have a whole bunch of other apps running in the background. If you have a whole bunch of other apps open and running in the background, that also will make it difficult for your hearing aids to connect to your phone. And the third thing that you can check for, is to make sure that you do not have a bunch of internet tabs open in the background and running on your phone. Because again, this will also cause the hearing aids and the phone to not be able to communicate correctly. There was a time I looked at a patient's phone to figure out why they wouldn't connect and he had 500 tabs open that were running in the background. Once we cleared all of those and powered down his phone, then the hearing aids worked just fine with his phone. The last thing you can try, is to forget the devices, either within your Bluetooth settings or sometimes, you have to do that within the app itself. So again, the four things that you can do: you can power down your phone, you can close out any apps that are running in the background, you can close out any internet tabs that are running in the background, and you can forget the devices and then repair them to your phone.
